Title 39 › Part II— PERSONNEL › Chapter 12— EMPLOYEE-MANAGEMENT AGREEMENTS › § 1205
When a union is the sole representative, or when a non‑bargaining employee group has consultation rights under section 1004, the Postal Service must take the group's regular and periodic dues out of the pay of all members in that represented group. Each employee must give a written assignment for the deduction that cannot be revoked for more than one year. Any agreement that let the Post Office Department deduct dues right before the Postal Reorganization Act took effect stays in force, and the Postal Service will take over those deductions. Those deductions also need a written assignment that cannot be revoked for more than one year.
