Title 40 › Subtitle SUBTITLE I— FEDERAL PROPERTY AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES › Chapter 13— PUBLIC PROPERTY › § 1301
The Administrator of General Services must take charge of land and other property that becomes federal property because it was given or transferred to pay a debt. The Administrator also manages trusts set up to hold property for the government to collect debts and is responsible for selling or disposing of land the government got by assignment, transfer, mortgage, or other security. It does not apply to real estate or trusts tied to debts under the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (26 U.S.C. 1 et seq.).
