Summary

Each executive agency head must set up a system to find, collect, and study all costs the agency has for running, fixing, buying, and getting rid of motor vehicles. This includes cars the government owns or leases and private cars used for official work, and it covers obligations and outlays (what the agency owes and what it spends). The Administrator of General Services, working with the Comptroller General and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, must write rules about what vehicle cost and use data to collect and how to collect and submit it. Those rules must follow the accounting principles from the Comptroller General, and every agency has to follow them.
