Title 40 › Subtitle SUBTITLE VI— MISCELLANEOUS › Chapter 181— TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACCESSIBILITY FOR HEARING-IMPAIRED AND SPEECH-IMPAIRED INDIVIDUALS › § 18102

Summary

The General Services Administrator must make rules, after talking with the boards and agencies named in the law (for example, the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board and the FCC), so federal telephone and communications systems work for people who are deaf or have speech disabilities, including federal employees. The Administrator must keep the current TTY relay service, publish and update a directory with access numbers for agency TTYs and similar devices, and, after consulting the Board, create a standard logo to show where those devices are available.
