§6921 Establishment, Composition, and Meetings

Summary

Creates a National Visitor Facilities Advisory Commission. It includes five named federal officials (the Secretary of the Interior; the Administrator of General Services; the Secretary of the Smithsonian; the chair of the National Capital Planning Commission; and the chair of the Commission of Fine Arts), six Senators (three per party) appointed by the President of the Senate, six Representatives (three per party) appointed by the Speaker, and three people appointed by the President, at least two of whom are not federal officers and one of whom represents the District of Columbia government. The Secretary of the Interior is the chair. Non‑federal members serve at the President’s pleasure and can be removed by the President. The commission meets when the chair calls a meeting.
