§3102 Delegation and Assignment of Powers, Functions, and Responsibilities

Summary

Agency heads may give their powers to other officers or officials in their agency unless another law stops them. To make buying property or services easier for another agency or for joint purchases, they can assign buying duties to employees, agree with other agency heads (consistent with 31 U.S.C. 1535 and rules under section 1074 of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act of 1994, Public Law 103–355) to move buying duties between agencies or to another agency’s employees, or set up shared offices to handle buying.
