§12602a Certifications of Successful Completion of Terms of Service

Summary

When the Corporation pays money from the National Service Trust because someone finished service in an approved national service, approved summer of service, or approved silver scholar position, it must rely on a certification. That certification must come from the organization that selected and supervised the person in the approved position where they completed the required term of service. If the Corporation finds the certification was wrong, it will charge the national service program for any payment or possible payment from the Trust. The Corporation will consider all facts and circumstances when deciding how much to charge.
