§13104 Grants to States for State Technical Assistance Programs

Summary

The Administrator must give matching grants to States to help businesses use source reduction techniques (ways to cut down on waste or pollution at the start). When picking grant winners, the Administrator will look at whether the State plan will give specific technical help to businesses (including paying experts to visit and help make plans), target businesses that lack needed information, and offer training through local engineering schools or other proper means. Federal funds may pay for no more than 50 percent of a State’s program costs in any year. The Administrator must set up ways to measure how well the grants work, and States getting grants must share the information they produce with the Administrator.
