Title 42 › Chapter 7— SOCIAL SECURITY › Subchapter XI— GENERAL PROVISIONS, PEER REVIEW, AND ADMINISTRATIVE SIMPLIFICATION › Part A— General Provisions › § 1319
Federal money can help pay to fix a home owned by someone getting state aid under subchapters I, X, XIV, or XVI (but not medical aid for the elderly) when the state or local agency, before paying, finds three things: the home is too unsafe to stay in; without repairs the person would have to rent; and, over a time the Secretary sets, renting would cost more than making the repairs and keeping the home. Also, no earlier repair payment was made for that home under this rule.
