§13312 Renewable Energy Export Technology Training

Summary

Set up a training program, run by the Secretary through the Agency for International Development (USAID), to teach people from developing countries how to operate and maintain U.S.-made renewable energy and energy-efficiency technology. The Secretary and the USAID Administrator must sign a written agreement to run the program within one year after October 24, 1992. The training covers system design, operation, and upkeep, including equipment for water pumping, heating, water purification, and producing electricity in remote areas. Congress authorized $6,000,000 for each of fiscal years 1994, 1995, and 1996 to pay for it.
