Title 42 › Chapter 135— RESIDENCY AND SERVICE REQUIREMENTS IN FEDERALLY ASSISTED HOUSING › Subchapter I— STANDARDS AND OBLIGATIONS OF RESIDENCY IN FEDERALLY ASSISTED HOUSING › § 13604
People applying for federally assisted housing can put the name, address, phone number, and other contact details of a family member, friend, or a social, health, or advocacy group on their application. The housing owner must keep that information private and, if the applicant becomes a tenant, keep it on file so the owner can contact those people or groups to help arrange services, special care, or to handle tenancy problems during the tenant’s stay. Owners cannot require applicants to give these contacts.
