By May 30 each year, the Commissioner of Social Security must prepare and send a report to the President and to Congress about the program. The report must give a clear description of the program and include data on approvals and denials (how many applications and approval rates at each decision step), who gets benefits and the costs by group (aged, blind, disabled adults, disabled children), past enrollment in other public programs (including State programs under part A of subchapter IV and State general assistance), projections of recipients and costs for at least 25 years, results of redeterminations and continuing disability reviews, use of work incentives, detailed administrative and other operating costs, summaries of related research, how State supplementation programs work, a history of statutory changes to this part, and any other information the Commissioner finds useful. Each member of the Social Security Advisory Board may also add an individual or joint statement of their views to be included in that annual report.
