Title 42 › Chapter 143— INTERCOUNTRY ADOPTIONS › Subchapter IV— ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT › § 14943
Federal agencies may get whatever money they need to carry out the Convention and this chapter. That money does not expire and can be used until it is spent. The Secretary of State may charge a fee, set by rule, for new or improved State Department services for intercountry adoptions under the Convention and for similar adoption services. The fee cannot be more than the service cost. Fees are kept by the State Department to cover those costs and stay available until spent.
