Title 42 › Chapter 9— HOUSING OF PERSONS ENGAGED IN NATIONAL DEFENSE › Subchapter X— DEVELOPMENT SITES FOR ISOLATED DEFENSE INSTALLATIONS › § 1593e
If the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development finds that taking property for a defense installation or industry will displace people from their homes, he can make rules to let those people move into or buy other housing. Those rules can allow use of housing with relaxed credit limits under the Defense Production Act of 1950 (50 U.S.C. 4501 et seq.) or housing provided or helped under this Act, even if other laws would otherwise prevent it, and can include any conditions he thinks are needed for national defense.
