§15961 Authorization of Appropriations

Summary

The law gives the Secretary $200,000,000 each year for fiscal years 2006 through 2014 to run the clean coal power work. The money stays available until it is spent. The Secretary must send Congress a report by March 31, 2007. The report must include a plan that (1) checks if the funding levels are right, (2) explains how proposals will be asked for and judged and what activities are planned, (3) lists technical milestones for each coal technology, and (4) explains how the program will avoid problems the Government Accountability Office found, such as unspent funds and failed projects.
