The Secretary of Energy must set up the Advanced Nuclear Energy Cost-Share Grant Program to pay part of applicants’ Nuclear Regulatory Commission fees for licensing work. The grants should support a mix of technologies. How much each grant pays is decided under section 16352. Grant money can be used for NRC fees tied to making a licensing project plan, getting a statement on licensing feasibility, reviewing topical reports, and other pre-application or application review work and interactions with the Commission. Commission — the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Program — the Advanced Nuclear Energy Cost-Share Grant Program. Secretary — the Secretary of Energy.
