The Federal Director, with the Commercial Director, must create a Green Building Advisory Committee within 180 days after December 19, 2007. The committee must include representatives from each agency named in section 17081(e) and other groups the Federal Director selects. It must have at least one member from six areas: state and local green building programs; independent green building groups; building professionals (like architects, suppliers, and contractors); security advisors for disasters and emergencies; public transportation experts; and environmental health experts, including those with children’s health experience. No more than 15 non‑Federal members are allowed. The Federal Director must set a regular meeting schedule. The committee will give advice and make recommendations the Director can use for federal green building work under sections 434 through 436 when a majority agrees. The committee is not subject to section 1013 of title 5.
