Summary

Any supplier who breaks the rules in sections 17301 or 17302 can be fined up to $1,000,000, in addition to any penalties under the Federal Trade Commission Act. The fine is collected the same way civil penalties are under section 5 of the FTC Act. Each day of a continuing violation counts as a separate violation, and courts must look at how serious the breach was and whether the supplier tried quickly to fix the harm.
