§18776 Expansion of International Energy Data

Summary

The head of the Energy Information Administration must expand and improve the agency’s international energy data within one year of November 15, 2021 (by November 15, 2022). The goal is to show how countries produce and use energy, how those patterns are changing, the costs and environmental effects, and plans or building of major energy projects. To do this, the EIA must work with the International Energy Agency, add country-level details on fuel use, economic sectors, and end uses where data exist, collect measures like cost and emissions intensity, and build tools that make it easy to compare countries.
