Title 42 › Chapter 16— NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION › § 1881a
The National Science Foundation can give the Alan T. Waterman Award to honor work in many science areas, such as math, physical and life sciences, engineering, and social or behavioral sciences. Each award includes a medal and a money grant to help the winner do more research or study. The National Science Board will set the grant amounts and rules. The award is for younger scientists whose work and skills show strong promise of important future success. No more than three awards can be given in any one fiscal year.
