§19065 Clean Water Research and Technology Acceleration

Summary

The Director must give competitive, merit-reviewed grants to colleges, universities, non-profit groups, or consortia of them to do three things. First, fund research across fields to better understand water supply, quality, and how people and climate affect urban and rural water and wastewater systems, including low-income and disadvantaged communities. Second, create, test, and deploy new technologies and approaches with affected communities and partners. Third, grow the workforce through education, training, and professional development for studying, managing, and doing wastewater surveillance.
