§1962d–11b Dalecarlia Reservoir; Delivery of Water to Metropolitan Maryland; Expenses; Payments; Purchase of Water From State or Local Authorities in Maryland or Virginia

Summary

The Secretary, if the Chief of Engineers recommends it, can let a Maryland state or local water agency get water from the District of Columbia system at the Dalecarlia filtration plant or other system points in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area in Maryland. The agency that asks for the water must pay for building any connection and for later changes. That agency must also pay the water fees the Secretary sets in advance and follow the Secretary’s rules and payment times. The Secretary can cancel a permit at any time. The Secretary can also buy water from any Maryland or Virginia state or local agency that has already finished a connection to the District’s water system, paying the price agreed on before the water is delivered.
