Title 42 › Chapter 19B— WATER RESOURCES PLANNING › § 1962–4
The Secretary must issue final, agency-specific procedures to carry out the principles and interagency guidelines no later than 180 days after December 27, 2020. The procedures must make sure future water projects follow the guiding principles and the national water resources planning policy, and that the projects are checked for national and regional economic benefits, environmental quality benefits, and other social effects. Every 5 years the Secretary must review and update the procedures as needed. When creating, reviewing, or changing the procedures, the Secretary must tell interested non-federal groups and people, give them chances to offer input and recommendations, and ask for public and expert comments.
