§2112 Foreign Distribution of Byproduct Material

Summary

The Commission can work with other countries and send byproduct material to them under formal cooperation agreements required by law. The Commission can also send byproduct material to people outside the United States if they apply and will charge the same fee it charges inside the U.S. It must refuse a request if sending the material would hurt the country’s defense or security, and it can require reports on how the material is used. The Commission may also license others to send this material abroad under the same rules, except fees can be different.
