Title 42 › Chapter 23— DEVELOPMENT AND CONTROL OF ATOMIC ENERGY › Subchapter XVI— JOINT COMMITTEE ON ATOMIC ENERGY › § 2259
Require the Secretary of Energy and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the Departments of Defense and State, to keep the Senate and House committees that oversee their nuclear work fully up to date. Any government agency must give those committees any information they ask for about the agency’s nuclear energy activities. Those congressional committees may use services, information, facilities, and staff from any agency that works on nuclear energy. If they use agency staff, the agency must be paid back and the committee must get written permission first: Senate committees need the Committee on Rules and Administration’s written permission, and House committees need the Committee on House Oversight’s written permission.
