Title 42 › Chapter 23— DEVELOPMENT AND CONTROL OF ATOMIC ENERGY › Subchapter VIII— UNITED STATES ENRICHMENT CORPORATION PRIVATIZATION › § 2297h–1
The Board must sell the U.S. ownership in the United States Enrichment Corporation to private buyers, and the Treasury Secretary must approve the sale. The sale must keep the company healthy for the long run, keep running the Department of Energy’s gaseous diffusion plants, protect a reliable and affordable U.S. supply of uranium mining, enrichment, and conversion services, and, where that does not conflict, get the maximum money for the United States. Money from the sale must go into the Treasury’s general fund.
