§242p National Disease Prevention Data Profile

Summary

The Secretary, through the National Center for Health Statistics, must send Congress a national disease prevention data profile on March 15, 1990, and on March 15 every third year after. The profile should help carry out the law and tell the public how common and how changing preventable causes of death and disability are. The profile must show death and illness rates for preventable diseases; the physical factors that affect health and how they relate to those deaths and illnesses; and behavioral factors—like smoking, diet, exercise, and alcohol—and how those behaviors relate to preventable death and disability. The Secretary must follow the rules in sections 242k and 242m when preparing it.
