An assignment organization for a Scholarship or Loan Repayment Program participant may require the participant to work as a behavioral or mental health provider at a school or community site in a health professional shortage area. That work may count toward required service. The Secretary may limit credited hours but must allow at least 50 percent. This applies even if other program rules differ.
