Title 42 › Chapter 6A— PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE › Subchapter II— GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES › Part D— Primary Health Care › Subpart viii— bulk purchases of vaccines for certain programs › § 256c
The Secretary must, within 180 days after October 27, 1992, have the CDC Director negotiate with vaccine makers, after consulting the HRSA Administrator, to set up agreements so certain immunization providers can buy vaccines at agreed prices. The providers covered are those that give vaccinations with help under section 254b. When possible, the Secretary should make those prices comparable to the prices in agreements made for grantees under section 247b(j)(1). The Secretary may choose to enter into, change, extend, or end those agreements. No State is required to reduce or stop the vaccines it supplies to the covered providers.
