The Secretary must set up and keep a clearly marked office inside the Public Health Service to do several jobs. It must run this part of the law and work with organ procurement activities under title XVIII of the Social Security Act; run public outreach about the need for organ donation; give technical help to organ procurement organizations, the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network established under section 274, and other health care groups; and give patients, families, and doctors information about transplants, national and State resources, and the comparative costs and patient outcomes at each transplant center affiliated with the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network to help with transplant costs.
