The Board of Regents of the National Library of Medicine must also serve as the National Medical Libraries Assistance Advisory Board. The Board must advise and help the Secretary make general rules and handle policy matters for running this part of the law. The Secretary may use any Board member’s services beyond meetings. Appointed members who are not federal employees, when attending meetings or helping at the Secretary’s request, must receive pay, per diem in lieu of subsistence, and travel expenses under the same rules as in section 210(c) of this title.
