The Secretary cannot give grants, loan guarantees, interest subsidies, or enter contracts under this program with certain health schools or training programs—like medical, osteopathic, dental, veterinary, optometry, pharmacy, podiatry, public health schools, allied health training centers, and clinical psychology graduate programs—unless the school gives a promise the Secretary accepts that it will not discriminate by sex when admitting students. There is a special case for a medical school that on October 13, 1992 was changing from admitting only women to admitting all sexes and is doing so under a plan the Secretary approved.
