To get a grant or contract, an eligible organization must apply to the Secretary when and how the Secretary requires and include all requested information. The application must give a plan for using the funds that matches relevant federal, state, or regional health workforce plans and must name measurable outcome goals tied to the workforce needs the project will meet; recipients must meet those goals. The application must also describe links with schools, training programs, and health care providers. When possible, recipients should connect with providers who serve underserved communities.
