Creates an Office of Women’s Health and Gender-Based Research inside the Office of the Director. A director will be picked by the Director of Healthcare and Research Quality. The director must tell the Director what the agency is doing about women’s health across ages, biology, and social groups, including work on evidence reviews, clinical guidance, patient outcomes, care delivery, quality, and access. The director must set short- and long-term research goals, pick women’s health projects for the agency, work with other agency offices, consult health professionals and groups, and serve on the HHS Coordinating Committee on Women’s Health. Money may be appropriated as needed for fiscal years 2010 through 2014.
