Title 42 › Chapter 35— PROGRAMS FOR OLDER AMERICANS › Subchapter I— DECLARATION OF OBJECTIVES AND DEFINITIONS › § 3003
Creates programs to help millions of older Americans who are harmed by not having enough services. The programs must offer a wide range of health, learning, and support services. They must pay extra attention to older people with special needs and, until services reach everyone, give priority to those with the greatest financial and social needs. Services should be coordinated and, where appropriate, also offer real job chances for older and younger people and volunteers. Planning and running these programs must be done together by older people, community groups, and state and local governments, with federal help.
