§300c–14 Report to Congress

Summary

The Secretary of Health and Human Services must send a report to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce no later than 2 years after December 31, 2020 (by December 31, 2022) and every two years after. For each reporting period the report must give counts of sudden unexpected infant deaths and sudden unexpected deaths in childhood (including how many remain unexplained), summaries by race/ethnicity and by State, combined findings from death scene investigations and autopsies, recommendations to reduce these deaths, an assessment of how well prevention approaches have worked, and a description of activities carried out under section 300c–11. The terms “sudden unexpected infant death” and “sudden unexpected death in childhood” mean what section 300c–11 says they mean.
