Title 42 › CHAPTER 45 — FAIR HOUSING › SUBCHAPTER I — GENERALLY › § 3608a
To check if federal fair‑housing and related civil‑rights rules (including title VI and title VIII) are being followed, the Agriculture Secretary must collect, at least once a year, information on the race and ethnicity of people who are eligible for, getting help from, or benefiting from each community development, housing, and mortgage or loan insurance and guarantee program the department runs. If the Secretary thinks it makes sense, the information can be gathered for each building. The Secretary must put a summary and an evaluation of the data from the previous year into the department’s annual report to Congress.
