Title 42 › CHAPTER 62 — INTERGOVERNMENTAL PERSONNEL PROGRAM › SUBCHAPTER III — TRAINING AND DEVELOPING STATE AND LOCAL EMPLOYEES › § 4744
The Office can give grants to other organizations to pay for up to 75 percent of the cost of training professional, administrative, or technical state or local government employees and officials. For fiscal years that begin after the three-year expiration following the effective date of the grant provisions of this chapter, grants may cover up to 50 percent. The Office must find that governments asked for the program, that training is not available or those groups will not provide it, and that the program meets the Office’s rules. “Other organization” means (1) groups that represent state or local governments at national, regional, statewide, areawide, or metropolitan levels, (2) associations of state or local public officials, or (3) nonprofits whose main job is offering advisory, research, development, educational, or related services to governments.
