Title 42 › CHAPTER 66 — DOMESTIC VOLUNTEER SERVICES › SUBCHAPTER II — NATIONAL SENIOR SERVICE CORPS › Part D — General Provisions › § 5027
The Director may award grants or contracts under part A, B, or C for up to 3 years if money is available and the rule in paragraph (2) allows it. If a grant or contract lasts more than 1 year, the recipient must follow Director-issued rules. They must show they are following the program and the grant or contract terms, and they must give updated information to their application. If, during the multiyear period, Congress provides less money in any year than was provided in the first year of that period, payments under all those multiyear grants and contracts must be cut proportionally. People asking for multiyear grants must explain any meaningful administrative savings the longer award will make. If an applicant does not get a multiyear award, the Director must still consider them for a one-year award. A project approved for multiple years must be treated the same as a single-year project for overall funding levels, for any adjustments to Federal financial help under section 5026, and for renewal when the term ends.
