Title 42 › CHAPTER 67 — CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT AND ADOPTION REFORM › SUBCHAPTER I — GENERAL PROGRAM › § 5106d
Funds under this subchapter and subchapter III must not be used to build new facilities. The Secretary may allow the money to pay for leasing or renting space if no adequate facilities exist, or for repairs and small remodels. The Secretary must make rules to spread aid fairly among States, different parts of the country, and rural and urban areas, and should try to make sure each State has at least one project. Money given for a specific grant or contract must only be used for the purpose it was approved for. The Secretary should encourage States and other recipients to give materials and services in other languages when needed and to make services accessible for people with disabilities. A State that gets funds under section 5106a(a) must send the Secretary a yearly report saying how the funds, alone or with other federal money, were used to meet the goals of section 5106a.
