Title 42 › CHAPTER 82 — SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL › SUBCHAPTER VI — FEDERAL RESPONSIBILITIES › § 6963
All federal agencies must help the EPA Administrator by quickly giving any requested information about their past or present waste management practices and about any solid or hazardous waste sites they own, lease, or run. Agencies must provide the information in the format the Administrator asks for. The EPA Administrator must collect, keep, and share information on how much energy and materials can be recovered from solid waste (including when materials are sorted before disposal) and on how much can be saved by conserving resources. The Administrator must point out regions where using recovered energy instead of fossil fuels is most practical and explain the technical and cost parts of building systems to recover or conserve materials, using the power to get information from agencies.
