Title 42 › CHAPTER 82 — SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL › SUBCHAPTER X — DEMONSTRATION MEDICAL WASTE TRACKING PROGRAM › § 6992i
The Administrator must talk with the States affected when making rules under this subchapter and can also talk with other interested groups. The Administrator must consult with the International Joint Commission about how to monitor medical waste coming from Canada. For rules that had to be made within 9 months after November 1, 1988, the Administrator could issue interim final rules without first getting public comment, but must allow public comment afterward. Those rules are not covered by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980. Nothing here stops the Administrator from regulating medical waste under subchapter III, including waste listed under section 6992a.
