§7381c–1 Partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-serving Institutions, and Tribal Colleges

Summary

The Secretary must tell each National Laboratory director, and may tell the head of any science facility, to increase how much historically Black colleges and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, and tribal colleges take part in work that helps them train people in science and engineering. That work can include collaborative research, moving or sharing equipment, training done at a lab or science facility, and mentoring at a lab or science facility. Defined terms (one line each): Hispanic-serving institution — see 20 U.S.C. 1101a(a). Historically Black college or university — see 20 U.S.C. 1061. National Laboratory — see 42 U.S.C. 15801. Science facility — see 42 U.S.C. 16182. Tribal college — see 25 U.S.C. 1801(a). The Secretary must send Congress a report about these activities no later than 2 years after August 8, 2005.
