§7385i Forfeiture of Benefits by Convicted Felons

Summary

If a person is convicted under section 1920 of title 18, or any federal or state crime for fraud in applying for or getting workers’ compensation benefits, that person must lose any pay or benefits they would otherwise get under this subchapter for injuries, illnesses, or deaths that happened on or before the conviction date. Even if privacy rules like section 552a of title 5 would normally block it, a federal, state, or local agency must give the President, in writing and when needed to enforce this rule, the names and Social Security account numbers of people convicted of a felony who are held in its jails, prisons, or similar facilities.
