Title 42 › CHAPTER 89 — CONGREGATE HOUSING SERVICES › § 8006
To get funding, a public housing agency or nonprofit must send an application that says what kinds of basic services it will provide and which ones are most important. The plan must fit the needs of eligible residents and try to adjust as those needs change. The plan must be made after talking with eligible residents and the professional assessment committee. The application must also list the committee members and their qualifications, include the fee schedule set under section 8004(h), attach any comments from earlier reviews under sections 8004(d) or 8004(e)(2), and include a statement saying the group followed the consultation steps in sections 8004(c), (d), and (e) and that the application meets section 8004(b). The Secretary will set yearly deadlines for applications and must tell applicants if they are accepted or rejected within 90 days. If asking to renew funding, the agency must review its program’s performance, suitability, and fees with residents and the committee within the 12 months before applying. The review results must be included in the renewal application and used by both the applicant and the Secretary when deciding on renewal.
