Title 42 › CHAPTER 91 — NATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION POLICY › SUBCHAPTER III — FEDERAL ENERGY INITIATIVE › Part B — Federal Energy Management › § 8262h
The Postmaster General must make rules to track energy costs for every building it owns, leases, operates, or manages. The rules must set up a system to find which sites cost the most to run per square foot (or by another measure), spot unusual changes in energy use, and check that electricity and gas bills are accurate. The Postmaster General must also run a program to find and buy energy-efficient products for its facilities and, whenever possible, use energy-efficiency information from the Federal Supply Schedules of the General Services Administration and the Defense Logistics Agency.
