§914 Office of Women’s Health

Summary

Creates an Office of Women’s Health inside the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The office is led by a director who the HRSA Administrator must appoint. The director must report to the Administrator about HRSA’s work on women’s health across age, biological, and sociocultural situations. The director must set short- and long-term goals for women’s health in HRSA and work with other offices on things like health care worker training, service delivery, research, and demonstration projects. The director must pick which women’s health projects HRSA bureaus should run, talk with health professionals and community groups about policy, and serve on the Department of Health and Human Services Coordinating Committee on Women’s Health. On March 23, 2010, the director took over authority for HRSA women’s health projects. “Administration” means HRSA, “Administrator” means the HRSA Administrator, and “Office” means the Office of Women’s Health. Money may be appropriated as needed for fiscal years 2010 through 2014.
