Title 42 › CHAPTER 106 — COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM › § 9914
States must check that eligible community service groups meet performance goals, administrative standards, financial rules, and other State requirements. States must do a full on-site review of each group at least once every 3-year period. They must do an on-site review of any newly designated group right after its first year of getting funds. States must do follow-up visits quickly for groups that fail to meet standards. They must also do other reviews when needed, for example when a group had other Federal, State, or local grants ended for cause. States may ask the Secretary for training or technical help. Each year the Secretary will evaluate how States use these funds in several States, including investigations, to check compliance with this chapter, especially section 9908(b). The Secretary will give each evaluated State a report with findings and recommendations to improve services for people in need. After getting that report, the State must send the Secretary a plan of action in response. The Secretary will also send the evaluation results each year to the Chairperson of the Committee on Education and the Workforce of the House of Representatives and the Chairperson of the Committee on Labor and Human Resources of the Senate as part of the report under section 9917(b)(2).
