§1471a Availability of Appropriations for Emergency Repair or Replacement of Damaged or Destroyed Facilities and Equipment

Summary

Starting October 2, 1992, money from this law or from later Energy and Water Development Appropriations Acts can be used to urgently rebuild, replace, or repair aircraft, buildings, utilities, or other facilities and equipment that were damaged, made unusable, or destroyed by fire, flood, storm, drought, or other unavoidable causes. The spending must stay within the same bureau or office and needs the Secretary's approval, and no funds may be used this way until emergency funds specifically set aside for the Department of the Interior have been used up.
