Title 43 › Chapter 32— COLORADO RIVER BASIN PROJECT › Subchapter III— AUTHORIZED UNITS; PROTECTION OF EXISTING USES › § 1525
If the Secretary increases releases from the Colorado River main stream so enough water is available to meet annual consumptive uses of 2,800,000 acre-feet for Arizona, 4,400,000 acre-feet for California, and 300,000 acre-feet for Nevada, as the Secretary decides under article II(b)(1) of the Supreme Court decree in Arizona v. California (376 U.S. 340), the Secretary must make that water available to users in those States on the same terms and costs as if the river naturally provided those amounts, to the extent costs can be matched by nonreimbursable allocations to refill shortages caused by meeting the Mexican Treaty and by financial help from the development fund in section 1543.
